Census & Family Issues of Note:
In the 1891 English Census it shows that Mary Grace Dickinson (husband John not present since he was in Canada working) and her children are residing in Blackburn, Lancashire - John is not present...which occurs in almost every census researched aside from the 1901 Canadian Census.
In the 1891 English Census, Mary Grace Dickinson is stated as a person that is "living on her own means" - which is suspicious and gives credence to the theory that Mary Grace and John were not the happiest couple known to mankind. They frequently lived apart - often times in separate countries.
It is known that John immigrated to Canada alone at the age of 18. It is not known when he attained his citizenship...or if he ever did.
John's family background and knowledge of his siblings is theory at best (as of August 2007). More work is to be done re. John's ancestor's and immediate family.
John married Mary Grace Harwood Hoskin, daughter of Richard Hoskin and Ann Brown, on 22 Nov 1879 in Witton Church, St. Marks, Blackburn, Lancashire, England. (Mary Grace Harwood Hoskin was born on 25 Feb 1858 in Pyworthy, Devonshire, England, died on 4 Aug 1914 in 232 Bain Avenue, Toronto, Ontario and was buried on 6 Aug 1914 in Saint John's Norway Cemetery, Toronto, Ontario.) The cause of her death was Arterior Sclerosis - Stroke.
