General Information: According to the Canadian National Biography Encyclopedia, David was a pioneer in the Toronto brick manufacturing business. Research Information: David and his brother William controlled a brickmaking business started by their Father, Robert Wagstaff. Medical Information: David had been ill for two years prior to his death. David married Matilda Sear, daughter of Charles Sear and Sarah Bromwich, on 27 Dec 1864 in Trinity Church, York Township. (Matilda Sear was born on 16 Jun 1848 in Greenwich, Kent, England and died on 8 Aug 1917 in 650 Broadview Avenue, Toronto, Ontario.) The cause of her death was Gall Stones. David next married Annie Louisa Cruttenden, daughter of Thomas William David Cruttenden and Emily Salisbury, on 4 Sep 1920 in Saint Barnabus Church, Danforth Avenue, Toronto, Ontario. (Annie Louisa Cruttenden was born on 11 Nov 1874 in County of York, Toronto, Ontario, died on 21 Jul 1955 in Toronto, Ontario and was buried in Saint James Crematorium, Toronto, Ontario.) |
