William Barnard
(1785-1866) |
William Barnard
Research Information: In a letter written by James Wells Jr. (of New York City) to Joseph Harris on February 10, 1936 it states that William and Caroline had only 9 children. Their names were Millie (Millicent), Jane, Mary, Caroline, Edward, John, Agatha, George and one other who's name is unknown - but James Jr. knew it was a boy. Supposedly this unknown boy fell over the rocks Girt Eln on a Christmas Eve while he was still very young. It is mentioned that at the time he was singing Christmas Carols. This child may be John Ellingham Barnard, although it is documented that he was no "lad" when he died at the age of 21 in 1832. Events in his/her life: • Occupation: Carpenter and Joiner, 1871. William married Caroline Ellingham, daughter of John Ellingham and Susan Perry, on 10 Oct 1811 in Parish Church, Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, England. (Caroline Ellingham was born on 17 Jun 1791 in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, England and died on 28 Feb 1861 in Lidlington, Bedfordshire, England.) |
