General Information:
The following story is courtesy of William Murphy - obtained from Ancestry.com on May 15, 2011.
On December 24th., 1933, George McCleary was preparing to leave the Toronto Armoury where he was working, but first discovered that a door was locked to a room which a woman was trying to gain access. This was something that happened a few times and George offered to right the problem as he had done before. He would climb up and enter the room through the transom. This time was not so good for the 63 year old and he fell to the floor.
His family including my mother Effie and my newborn sister Barbara were waiting at home for his return. Presents were under the tree but instead of George, there was a knock on the door and a policeman was there advising that George had been taken to hospital where he died.
The memory of that event was always present at Christmas after that.
